Chelsea Furshman is a licensed speech-language pathologist and oversees the Related Services Department at The Trellis School. With a master's of science degree in speech-language pathology from Loyola University Maryland, she has worked in various settings, including a pediatric outpatient clinic and various private, nonpublic day schools in the Baltimore, Maryland, area serving children on the autism spectrum. Chelsea has extensive experience working with children from birth to 21 years of age with apraxia of speech, articulation disorders, receptive/expressive language delays, and social/pragmatic language difficulties. She also has experience using a variety of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) systems to support functional communication and social interaction.
Chelsea has completed trainings in a variety of treatment approaches, including: PROMPT Level II (Bridge Trained), Hanen-More Than Words, Language Acquisition through Motor Planning (LAMP) for AAC, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Pragmatic Organization Dynamic Display (PODD), TalkTools Oral Placement Therapy, and Verbal Behavior and Applied Behavioral Analysis methodology (VB/ABA).
